AI Tools can tidy up what you typed, change its tone, or suggest a reply for you. You always see the result before anything is sent.

Before you start

  • For every tool except Predict, type your draft first. If the box is empty you see "Type a message first."

  • You don't need a texting seat to use AI Tools, but you need one to send the text.

Steps

  1. Open the conversation. On the SMS tab, type your draft (skip this for Predict).

  2. In the row with SMS, Note and Shortcuts, click AI Tools.

  3. Pick a tool:

    • Rewrite options: pick from four rewrites of your draft.

    • Expand: make your message longer.

    • Rephrase: say it differently.

    • Fix grammar: correct spelling and grammar.

    • More friendly: a warmer, more casual tone.

    • More formal: a professional, polished tone.

    • Predict: suggest a reply based on the conversation.

  4. Check the result:

    • For most tools, an AI suggestion bar shows. Click Accept to keep it, Reject to go back to your draft, or the refresh button to try again.

    • For Rewrite options, click the version you like. You then see Draft rewritten. Click Undo to go back to what you had.

  5. Change anything you want, then send.

What happens next

  • Nothing is sent until you press send yourself.

  • The new text replaces what was in the box only when you accept or pick it.

Common questions

Does the AI read the whole conversation?

The tools read the last 20 messages in the conversation, including internal notes, plus your brand's AI settings. Predict uses them to suggest a reply. If you typed a start, it finishes or improves it.

I got a "too many requests" style error.

AI Tools can be used up to 30 times a minute. Past that, you see "AI service unavailable. Please try again." and your draft is put back. Wait a minute and try again.

Is the AI text checked for words carriers block?

Yes. Every text you send is checked the same way, whether you or the AI wrote it. See why-a-text-was-not-sent.

Do AI Tools cost extra?

[CHECK: confirm with billing whether AI Tools are included in every plan.]
