Write a text now and have it go out to one contact later.
Before you start
You need a YetiText or YetiSales seat.
To text a whole group at a set time, use a broadcast instead. See schedule-a-broadcast.
Steps
Open the conversation and type your text on the SMS tab. You can add attachments too.
Click the three-dots button next to the send button.
Click Schedule message.
Under Date, click Pick a date and choose the day.
Under Time, pick the time. Times are in your computer's time zone, in 5-minute steps.
Click Schedule.
A note shows above the box: "Will send at [time] once you press Schedule." The send button now schedules instead of sending.
Click the send button to save it. Or press Cmd + Enter (Mac) or Ctrl + Enter (Windows).
What happens next
The text shows in the conversation with Scheduled for and the time.
It goes out at that time from the same number.
A Scheduled Messages button shows above your conversation list with a count. Click it to see every scheduled text. See manage-scheduled-messages.
To cancel it from the conversation, click the X on the scheduled text. It is cancelled right away, with no "are you sure" step, and shows as Cancelled.
Common questions
Why can't I pick a time in the next few minutes?
A new scheduled text must be at least 15 minutes from now.
I picked a time but nothing was saved.
Picking a time only sets it. You still have to press the send button (now called Schedule) to save it.
Can I change the time?
Before you save it, open the three-dots menu and click Edit schedule. After it is saved, change it from the Scheduled Messages page. There, the new time only has to be a couple of minutes away.
What if the contact opts out before it goes out?
It is not sent. It shows Held: the contact opted out after this was scheduled.
Can I schedule a text to a number on our Do Not Contact list?
No. Scheduled texts to those numbers are not allowed.
Can I cancel a text that is already going out?
No. Once it starts sending, you see "This text is already being sent and can no longer be cancelled."
